People's mental health has been affected by the COVID-19 epidemic. Throughout the pandemic, people from all walks of life had been stressed from frontline workers who are overworked to young people who are unable to attend school. family members who are separated from one another, those who have been infected with COVID-19 or have lost loved ones also suffered a great deal. Finally, people with pre-existing mental health conditions who have difficulty accessing mental health services during lockdowns also suffered their bit. Always deal with anything interfering with your mental health wellbeing.

It's natural to feel terrified, anxious, or powerless during this momentous occasion. However, regardless of your situation or location in the Pacific, you have the ability to take care of your mental health and well-being. As we commemorate World Mental Health Day on October 10th, here are some tips to help you manage, not just with the COVID-19 epidemic, but with any stressful situation.

1. Get someone you trust

It may be useful to speak with someone you can trust, such as a friend, family member, or coworker. You could feel better if you can openly explain what you're going through with a friend or someone who cares about you. if you live far from that person and would be challenging to meet in person, a video call, phone call, or messaging app can help you stay in touch with family and friends.

2. Participate in activities that you enjoy.

Continue to do activities that make you happy and meaningful. Cooking for yourself or your loved ones, playing with your pet, reading a book, taking a walk in the park as well as watching a movie or TV series are all examples of these activities. Maintaining good mental health and wellness necessitates a regular routine packed with enjoyable activities.

3. Take care of your physical health.

Taking care of your physical health will go a long way in helping you improve your mental health and overall happiness. Running, walking, yoga, dance, cycling, and even gardening are all excellent methods to keep active for at least 30 minutes every day. Consume a nutritious and well-balanced diet. Make sure you get enough sleep.

Conclusion

Don't use harmful substances like drugs, kava, alcohol, or cigarettes to preserve your mental health and wellness. Though they may help you feel better in the short term, they can really make you feel worse in the long run. These medicines are also dangerous, putting you and others around you at risk of disease or damage.
